The 71st Sapporo Snow festival was held in February 12th. The number of the attendances decreased from 2.73m people to 2.02m people, which is the lowest for the past ten years. The main reason is that the tourists canceled because of spreading coronavirus in Sapporo.
During lunar new year season, a number of individual tourists from China was cancelled and group tourists of kindergarten and elementary school canceled it because of spreading the virus. The number of tourists from Taiwan and Thailand are stable compared with recent years. However, the number of people from Korea decreased because of relationship deterioration between Japan and Korea.
